THE MEDICAL RECEPTIONISTS
Our medical receptionists are trained to ask the right questions so that we ensure that every patient receives the most appropriate treatment as quickly as possible. In addition, we have specially trained people who manage important services such as prescriptions, making referrals and patient records. Just ask one of our receptionists who will be able to help.
The receptionists are available to advise patients:
- In person - Monday 7.30am - 6.30pm; Tuesday and Thursday 8.30am - 6.00pm; Wednesday and Friday 7.30am - 6.00pm
- On the telephone - Monday to Friday 8.30am - 6.00pm

The Paramedics and Duty Doctor run our Urgent Care Clinics
Urgent Care Clinic is for urgent problems that cannot wait for the next routine appointment with a Doctor. In order to assist your medical needs the receptionists are required to ask you several questions to ensure that you are booked with the most appropriate clinician. The information you provide will also help the clinicians to prioritise your call accordingly.
Urgent medical cases will be seen by a doctor or a paramedic who jointly run the Urgent Care Clinic. Please be aware that we cannot specify which Clinician you will see. Due to the variable nature of the cases in the Urgent Care Clinic, there may be some waiting time to see the clinician. Please ask the receptionist if you would like an update on the likely waiting time.
Whether a patient is seen by a Paramedic or Doctor is dictated by clinical need rather than patient choice and we ask our patients to work with us on this to help reduce overall waiting times.
This service is available on a daily basis (Monday - Friday) and offers telephone and face-to-face consultations if clinically appropriate; these can be booked on the day by contacting Reception throughout the day on 01825 766055.
For training and monitoring purposes, please be aware that all telephone calls to and from the surgery are recorded.
PRACTICE NURSES
Angie Veysey - RN |
Maxine Grief - RN |
Nicola Gardener - Nurse Practitioner |
The nurses run general nursing surgeries as well as specialised clinics. The practice only carries a minimal stock of dressings. If specialised dressings are required, patients are advised that a prescription will be raised and they will be required to pay at the pharmacy.
Patients who have not been seen within three years or are 75 years and over may request a health check with a practice nurse.
HEALTHCARE ASSISTANTS
Jo Botting and Samantha Hammond offer a range of services at the practice, including specialised clinics. Examples of some of the services the HCAs offer are blood tests, pill checks, INR monitoring, ECGs, ear syringing etc
